ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's basketball team will host its final game of 2024 when it goes against former America East rivals Stony Brook for the first time since the Seawolves joined the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The Seawolves are coming off a 74-72 victory over Maine on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Stony Brook. This season they are averaging 67.0 points, 23.3 field goals, 7.1 three-pointers, 13.4 free throws, 33.9 rebounds, 11.8 assists, 12.6 turnovers 6.2 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game.
Joe Octave is Stony Brook's leading scorer, averaging 14.3 points with 173 in 12 games. He is shooting 57-158 (.361%) from the field and 12-47 (.255%) beyond the arc in 29.0 minutes per game. Ben Wright has been the Seawolves most consistent shooter with a .635% field goal percentage (40-63). On the glass, Andre Snoddy has recorded a team-high 82 rebounds (14 off – 68 def) for an average of 6.8 per game. Collin O'Conner leads the team in assists with 37 along with turnovers at 30, while CJ Luster II leads the team with 14 steals.

February 26, 2022 | The University at Albany men's basketball team fell to rival Stony Brook, 50-66, at Island Federal Arena the last time the two teams met. UAlbany shot just 29.7% (19-64) from the field and 26.7% (8=30) from deep. Stony Brook shot 48.0% (24-50) from the field and 20.0% (3-15) from three.
Jamel Horton led the offense with 14 points, going 6-17 from the field. He also led the team in assist with six.
Aaron Reddish finished with 11 points, a career-high, in 14 minutes of action.
Matt Cerruti had four steals on defense, finishing with four points. UAlbany was out rebounded 48-26, with the Seawolves collecting eight offensive boards. UAlbany finished with 10 turnovers, Stony Brook finished with 17. 23 of UAlbany's 50 points came from off the bench.
UAlbany is 22-29 since 2001 against Stony Brook, with the Great Danes' last win over the Seawolves coming on February 21, 2021, 67-59, when the two teams played each other on back-to-back days.

December 21, 2024 | The Great Danes traveled to the Bronx on Saturday afternoon where they fell to the Fordham Rams in the final game before holiday break, 87-84.
Amar'e Marshall led the Great Danes with a season-high 24 points shooting 10-18 (55.6%) from the field.
Justin Neely recorded the most rebounds with eight.
Byron Joshua dished out five assists for a team-high.
DeMarr Langford Jr. denied a total of two shots in the contest. Marshall and Neely both led UAlbany with two steals each. UAlbany shot 31-63 (49.2%) from the field, 7-16 (43.8%) from beyond the arc, and 14-18 (77.8%) at the free throw line.

Fans are invited to come out to City Line Bar & Grill to join Coach Killings, Coach Mullen, student-athletes, and the ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team crew. Food and drink specials will be available every week as the teams embark on their new seasons and talk hoops every Monday.
Postgame Show
The UAlbany Basketball Post game Show returns this season to 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio. The show will begin immediately following all games, home and away, for fans to listen to as they commute home or tune in from a distance.
The show is set to run for 30 minutes following the final buzzer on 104.5 The Team. Fans will hear initial reactions and a game recap to start the segment followed by interviews with the team. Coach
Dwayne Killings and select student-athletes will join ESPN Radio's Rodger Wyland and Michael Johnson Jr. to break down the contest, give insights, opinions, and responses, and discuss the team's next match up.
