SHORT STORY: The Great Danes continued a strong start throughout the entire game to win on the road, 80-59, at Stonehill, Sunday afternoon.

COACH COLLEEN MULLEN: This win was a total team effort on both ends of the floor. We played from the inside out and gave up good shots for great ones. It was so fun to see the ball go through the net for our shooters! Lilly [Phillips] had an outstanding performance and credit her teammates for finding her throughout the game."

KEY STATS
  • Graduate student Lilly Phillips led the offense with a career-high 24 points from nine field goals, including six three-pointers.
  • Fellow graduate students Kayla Cooper (13) and Kaci Donovan (12) followed to make it three Great Danes with double-digit point totals.
  • Cooper tallied her third double-double on the season while leading on defense with 15 rebounds.
  • Freshman Martina Borrellas and Cooper shared the lead with four assists each.
  • As a team, the Great Danes shot 57.7% from downtown, including hitting 10 of 16 shots in the first half alone.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • UAlbany opened strong with two three-pointers in 90 seconds.
  • Kaci Donovan added a third three-pointer, her second, before Lilly Phillips hit a layup to make it an 11-5 game with three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
  • After senior Laycee Drake added the Great Danes' fourth three-pointer of the quarter, the Skyhawks got the last basket in before the buzzer for a 16-13 UAlbany advantage after 10 minutes of play.
  • The two teams traded points in the first five minutes of the second quarter.
  • Four three-pointers in a row from Phillips (x2), Donovan, and senior Meghan Huerter gave UAlbany a double-digit scoring margin with three minutes left in the first half.
  • Though back-and-forth action continued, the Great Danes entered halftime with a 42-27 advantage.
  • Phillips tabbed a three-pointer for the first UAlbany field goal of the third.
  • Stonehill gradually attempted to close the lead but three layups from Kayla Cooper, junior Gabriela Falcão, and Phillips as well as a two-point jumper from Drake held on to the 15-point lead for the Great Danes.
  • Martina Borrellas ended the third quarter with her second collegiate three-pointer.
  • Once again, Phillips opened the quarter with a three-pointer.
  • Overall, the final quarter proved to be Stonehill's best offensive performance but it was not enough as UAlbany scored over 20 points in the fourth quarter alone.
  • Seeing her first game in uniform, freshman MaKayla Noble scored the final Great Dane field goal with 27 seconds left as UAlbany won the game, 80-59.
