Short Story: The University at Albany men's basketball team fell on the road to Army West Point in the team's season opener on Monday Night.

How it Happened:
- Army made the first field goal of the contest 25 seconds into the game
- Sully Adewale answered back with a layup to make it a 2-2 contest early on.
- As both teams traded field goals, Army would go on a 9-2 run to take a 14-8 lead with 14:32 left in the half.
- The Great Danes answered back bringing the deficit back to within two at 14-12 before another nine-point run from the Black Knights brought their lead to 23-12 with 9:51 remaining in the first.
- Down 25-14, Byron Joshua, DeMarr Langford Jr., and Amar'e Marshall all contributed field goals to make it a one-score game 25-22 with 3:37 to go before the half.
- UAlbany and Army both traded two good free throws making it a 27-24 game after 20 minutes with Joshua making the two successful free throws for the Purple and Gold.
- To start the second Army would score four unanswered points before a layup from Sully Adewale kept the Great Danes in it 31-26.
- Five minutes into the half, a three-pointer from Kheni Briggs would cut the Great Danes' deficit to one point, 37-36.
- A step-back jumper from Adewale would give the Great Danes its first lead since early in the first at 28-27 with 14 14-minutes left to play.
- UAlbany's biggest lead of the game came at 11:38 when a layup from Briggs made it a 46-39 seven-point Great Danes lead.
- UAlbany would take another seven-point lead at 7:44 with another layup from Joshua.
- Army slowly chipped away at its deficit before tying the game 49-49 with 5:27 to play.
- Two successful free throws from Adewale with 2:16 to play made it a 59-56 Army lead.
- Army would end the night on an 8-3 run to win the game 67-59.
