SHORT STORY: The Great Danes hosted a battle against top-10 opponent, UConn, with the visiting Huskies taking the victory, Sunday afternoon.
COACH PHIL SYKES: "Tough game. UConn is a very good team and they played well. Our girls got a taste of that top-10 mentality. We played well enough; we just couldn't get the goals back. It's good preparation for our upcoming conference games - making sure we are a little tougher and more battle-tested."

- Graduate student Charlotte Triggs added the second shot on goal.

- The Great Danes put up a fight in the final five minutes with an extra field player but it was not enough to score a goal.
- A late-game corner proved to be the final chance at a goal but a lifted shot was called too high as it hit the crossbar with less than 30 seconds remaining.
