Men’s Soccer Celebrates Seniors Against UNH

Short Story: The University at Albany men's soccer team fell to New Hampshire 5-1 on Saturday Night. Prior to the match the men honored 11 graduating seniors in Daniel Shannon, Lucas Watt, Santiago Frias, Ander Castillo, Mamadi Jiana, Chris Lee, Ben Kaplan, Mohamed Soumah, Parker Kump, Lovro Horvat and Elias Ehlin.
 
Trevor Gorman: "Obviously tonight was a very disappointing outcome. The way the second half got away from us when we were in a positive position isn't a great feeling. UNH is a mature, talented, team and we gave them too much space in dangerous areas. All the matters moving forward is that we prepare for Friday night and attack that opportunity to play for 3 points"

  • Zach Lind scored on the Great Danes' first shot of the game in the '5 off a double assist by Ivar Gissurarson and Ander Castillo to make it 1-0
  • New Hampshire's first shot came in the '11 when Aaron Williams Fernandez missed high
  • The Wildcats tied the game 1-1 in the '26 when Ibrahim Conde scored on a penalty kick.
  • At the half, New Hampshire had recorded four shots but was only able to score on one
  • Matthew Goncalves of New Hampshire scored three times in the second half, in the '51, '61, and '63, bringing the score to 4-1 with the Wildcats on top.
  • Maine built on their lead in the '79 when Luke Fagerson scored, making it 5-1
  • UAlbany's last shot came in the '87 before the full '90 as the Great Danes would come up with a 5-1 loss to the Wildcats.
