SHORT STORY: The Great Danes opened strong with two goals in three minutes on their way to a shutout victory over Stonehill, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Blanca Orsola opened the game with a goal in the first 30 seconds of action. After Mara Küskes brought the ball to goal, she passed to Orsola who one-touched the ball past the goalie and into the net.
- Less than three minutes later, Orsola flicked the ball through the circle and towards the goalie. Sitting on top of the goaltender, Sophia Schoonmaker redirected the ball into the net for her first goal of the game.
- Scrambling for the ball in the circle, Floor de Ruiter worked to gain control as the ball bounced from stick to stick and in the air. Axelle Werbouck took the ball from the air and sent it into the goal for UAlbany's third score in eight minutes.
- After a scoreless second quarter, the Great Danes added a fourth goal in the third.
- Adding their second goal and assist respectively, Schoonmaker scored off a pass from de Ruiter.
- In what proved to be the final goal of the contest, Alison Smisdom sent the ball into the net from the top of the circle during a penalty corner. Smisdom tallied the goal with a stick stop from Orsola and an insert from Küskes.
NEXT: Hosting their first ranked opponent of the season, the Great Danes will welcome #7 Iowa on Sunday (Sept. 3) for a 1 pm matchup.
