How it Happened
- The University at Albany women's lacrosse team visited first-year America East program Bryant to close the 2023 regular season. The Great Danes had already locked up the one-seed and hosting rights for the America East Tournament for the second-straight season, and had clinched at least a share of the regular-season title.
- Junior midfielder Katie Pascale was on the verge of two program records. She needed two draws to take over as the single-season program leader, and needed 10 assists to take over as the career assists leader.
- Bryant scored first, with 10:38 left in the first quarter. Ava Poupard scored just 19 seconds later, off a setup from the first of Katie Pascale's six assists. Bryant went up 2-1 three-and-a-half minutes later for the final goal of the first quarter.
- UAlbany scored the first three goals of the second quarter to take a 4-2 lead with 7:46 left before halftime. Bryant ended UAlbany's run, but Sarah Falk scored her third goal of the day just 18 seconds later to keep the Great Danes' advantage at two.
- Bryant closed the first half scoring three-straight goals, and added a fourth to start the third, taking a 7-5 lead over the Great Danes. UAlbany responded with three-straight goals, all from Bryar Hogg, to retake the lead, 8-7, with 3:14 left in the third.
- The third quarter ended with three goals in the final 1:28. Bryant scored first to tie the game at eight, before Poupard scored with 25 seconds left to put UAlbany back up by one. Bryant then scored once more, with seven seconds on the clock, to tie the game at nine heading into the fourth.
- Courtney Rowe and Hogg scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to put UAlbany up by two, 11-9, with just under 10 minutes remaining. Bryant scored with 2:04 on the clock to cut the lead to one, and had a chance to tie the game in the final minute but turned the ball over, securing an 11-10 victory for the Great Danes.
- UAlbany won the outright America East regular-season title for the first time since 2011, and Pascale took over as the program's single-season draws leader, and closed the gap on the career assists record to just two. Â The Great Danes will play four-seed New Hampshire in the America East semifinal on Fallon Field.
