Short Story: The UAlbany men's basketball team saw its season come to an end on Tuesday night with a 61-79 loss on the road to Vermont. The Catamounts started the game shooting lights-out from three-point range, finishing the first half 10-18 from deep. Even after holding Vermont to just 1-10 from three in the second half, the Great Danes were unable to overcome the early deficit.
Head Coach Dwayne Killings: "There were stretches where I thought we played some pretty high-level basketball. The effort by a few guys was pretty impressive, they [Vermont] are a really good basketball team."
Key Stat Lines:
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. led the Great Danes with 22 points, going 7-14 from the field and 4-7 from deep. The senior added five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
- Jonathan Beagle filled the stat sheet, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.
- Trey Hutcheson had a team-high eight rebounds and three blocks. He ended with nine points, going 2-8 from deep in his final game.
- UAlbany shot 38.2% (21-55) from the field and went 9-31 from three. Vermont shot 52.9% (27-51) from the field and went 11-28 from three.

How it Happened:
- Vermont got out to an early 9-4 lead heading into the first media TO. The Catamounts went 4-6 from the field to start, the Great Danes went 2-4.
- The Catamounts pushed the lead to eight points, 20-12, by the midway point of the first half. The difference maker early on was the long ball, with Vermont going 4-8 from deep and UAlbany going just 1-4.
- With 7:34 remaining the scoreboard read 25-16 in favor of Vermont. Jonathan Beagle led the way for the Great Danes with six points, Aaron Deloney led the Catamounts with six himself.
- The lead increased to 11 points by the final media TO of the half. Vermont's shooting from deep continued to be a problem for UAlbany, with the Catamounts increasing their first half numbers to 8-15 from three.
- Vermont took a 42-27 lead into the locker room at halftime. The long ball made all the difference in the first, with the Catamounts finishing 10-18 from deep.
- UAlbany shot 40.7% (11-27) from the field and went just 2-12 from three. Vermont shot 59.3% (16-27) from the field.
- The Great Danes had 11 first half turnovers, the Catamounts had seven.
- An 8-0 run early in the second half, featuring three-pointers from Gerald Drumgoole Jr. and Sarju Patel, got UAlbany back within single digits, but Vermont was able to push the lead back to 15 by the first media TO with 15:34 on the clock.
