SHORT STORY: The Great Danes grabbed an early first-inning lead but were unable to overcome a three-run inning from Saint Joseph's and fell in their final game of the Chanticleer Showdown, Sunday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes earned a quick 2-0 lead after one inning.
- Caitlyn Frederick hit a leadoff single before making it to third with a sacrifice bunt from senior Caitlyn Mitros.
- After Jordan Nastos got on base with a bunt, Morgan Petty notched her first double of the year to drive in Frederick and Nastos.
- Tallying three-straight outs, UAlbany held on to their lead through the bottom of the first.
- After three-straights outs in the second innings, the Hawks tallied their first hit in the third inning.
- Petty opened the fourth inning with a single but was unable to make it around the bases.
- The Hawks left one on base as UAlbany grabbed three outs in four batters in the bottom of the fourth.
- The Great Danes saw two singles from Sara Anderson and Frederick in the top of the fifth before holding SJU to three batters in the bottom.
- Saint Joseph's took a two-run lead in the bottom of the sixth.
- The Great Danes put Anderson on base in the top of the seventh but were unable to take advantage of the base runner and fell, 4-2, on the final day of the Chanticleer Showdown.
NEXT: The Great Danes will head down to Florida for the Spring Game at Madeira Beach (March 3-5).
