Short Story: The University at Albany men's basketball team fell on the road to UMass Lowell on Wednesday night by a score of 66-50.
Head Coach Dwayne Killings: "I think we've hit a little bit of a wall, it's a long season… We have to get ready for a huge matchup against a really good Vermont basketball program. But, all credit to UMass Lowell tonight."
Key Stat Lines
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. led the Great Danes with 18 points, going 5-14 from the field and 6-11 from the charity stripe. He also had a team-high three assists in 37 minutes of action.
- Sarju Patel finished with 12 points on 5-9 shooting, going 2-2 from beyond the arc.

How it Happened:
- The game got off to a fast start, with the first whistle not coming until the 15:19 mark after Dwayne Killings called a TO. UMass Lowell held a 13-5 advantage at that point, going 5-10 from the field and 3-6 from three to build a quick cushion.
- The lead was pushed to 10 points by the U12 media TO with the River Hawks ahead 17-7 thanks to a 10-2 scoring run.
- Back-to-back three points from Da'Kquan Davis got the offense rolling, but the Great Danes still found themselves behind 26-13 with 7:59 remaining in the first half.
- By the final TO of the first half, the scoreboard read 33-16. With his back-to-back threes, Davis led all UAlbany scorers with six points.
- UAlbany would fail to score for the rest of the half, with UMass Lowell taking a 39-16 advantage into the locker room.
- UAlbany shot just 22.2% (6-27) from the field and 33.3% (3-9) from three in the first half. UMass Lowell shot 44.8% (13-29) from the field and went 4-11 from three.
- UAlbany scored the first four points of the second half, layups from Sarju Patel and Marcus Jackson, to force an early TO from UMass Lowell.
- Three pointers from Patel and Gerald Drumgoole Jr., along with another layup from Jackson, capped a 12-3 UAlbany run to start the second half. UMass Lowell led 42-28 with 15 minutes of play remaining.
- UAlbany's Jackson picked up his fourth personal foul a minute later, forcing him to the sidelines.
- The River Hawks were able to go on a 6-0 run, pushing the lead back to 20 at the U12 media TO.
- By the game's final stop in play for media, UMass Lowell held a 60-38 advantage.
- UMass Lowell's Yuri Covington fouled out of the game with 2:05 remaining.
