Short Story: The University at Albany men's basketball team held in during the first half, but ultimately fell to the South Florida Bulls on Friday afternoon by a score of 89-73.
Key Stat Lines
- Amar'e Marshall led the way in scoring for the Great Danes, dropping 19 points on 8-15 shooting.
- Jonathan Beagle had another big day for the Purple & Gold, finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds – one short of a double-double. He saw a team-high 34 minutes of action.

How it Happened:
- USF jumped out to an 11-4 advantage, going 5-8 from the field. The Great Danes started going 2-6 shooting with buckets from Jonathan Beagle and Sebastian Thomas.
- UAlbany closed the gap, bringing the deficit to just three points with 12 minutes remaining in the first half. Beagle was the man responsible for almost 50% of UAlbany's scoring, dropping eight points.
- The Bulls extended their lead back to eight points with 6:46 remaining. USF success came from the deep ball, going 5-10 from long range.
- The Great Danes took their first lead of the afternoon with 2:44 remaining in the first half. Beagle was fed a ball in the lane from Amar'e Marshall, hitting the layup and drawing the foul to take a 39-38 advantage.
- USF took a one-point advantage into the locker room at halftime, 47-46. UAlbany's Thomas drained a half-court three as time expired to bring it within a single point.
- UAlbany shot 61.3% (19-31) from the field and went 5-10 from three in the first half. USF shot 51.5% (16-31) from the field and went 6-15 from deep.
- The scoreboard read 60-55 in favor of the Bulls with 15 minutes remaining.
