LAST WEEK IN REVIEW
- The Great Danes headed on the road for two four-set losses to Binghamton (10.27) and Bryant (10.29).
- Redshirt-sophomore Shynelle Woroniuk (15 kills) and junior Sthefany Carvalho (17 digs) led in their respective positions on Friday while sophomore Anna Myhal followed both with 14 kills and 12 digs.
- On Sunday, senior Elisavet Papageorgiou tallied 17 digs; Carvalho followed with 14.
- Myhal (11) and Woroniuk (10) combined for just under half of the Great Danes kills against Bryant.
GREAT DANE REWIND
- UAlbany holds a 7-16 record on the season with a 2-6 America East record.
- The Great Danes started their season with a three-set sweep over Syracuse (Aug. 25).
- Following the win, UAlbany played close sets against Navy (Aug. 26) and UCF (Aug. 27) to close the UAlbany Invitational before falling to 1-5 with three losses at the Chippewa Invitational (Sept. 1-2).
- Going 1-2 at each of their final regular season tournaments, the Great Danes beat Cornell at the Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament (Sept. 8-9) and George Mason at the Patriot Invite (Sept. 15-16).
- UAlbany won back-to-back matches defeating Siena (Sept. 20) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 27) before beginning conference play.
- After falling to NJIT (Oct. 1) and Bryant (Oct. 6), the Great Danes earned their first conference victory defeating UMBC (Oct. 8) in five sets.
- Conceding defeats to Binghamton (Oct. 15) and New Hampshire (Oct. 20), UAlbany bested NJIT (10. 22) for their second conference victory.
- Most recently, the Great Danes fell against Binghamton and Bryant.
- Shynelle Woroniuk leads the team with 3.22 kills per set and 3.52 points per set.
- On defense, Sthefany Carvalho holds the team-high with 3.32 digs per set.
- Zosia Szczotkiewicz leads the Great Danes with a team-high in aces (26). Carvalho and Papageorgiou are close behind with 23 and 21, respectively.
- Redshirt-freshman Gabriella Karman has recorded 60 blocks this season (1.02/set), including 11 solo blocks. Redshirt-sophomore Kendall Harris and sophomore Tori Wilson trail with 40 each.
- The team's primary setter, Szczotkiewicz has tallied 569 assists in 60 sets (9.48/set).
INTERNATIONAL APPEAL
- The UAlbany coaching staff is constantly at work to represent different cultures and countries on their roster each year.
- The 2023 roster traveled a total of 32,597 miles from their homes to UAlbany.
- Seven different countries and five different states within the USA are included on the 14-person roster.

ABOUT LIU
- The Sharks are 7-17 on the season with a 6-4 conference record.
- In three regular-season tournaments - the Cherry & White Challenge (Aug. 25-26), the Grand Canyon Invitational (Sept. 1-2), and the Iona Invitational (Sept. 7-9) - as well as one midweek match against Fairfield, LIU notched a 1-9 record.
- After an additional three losses, the Sharks defeated CCSU (9.22) to open conference play.
- Seeing four additional league matches, LIU added two wins at Le Moyne (9.29) and Saint Francis (9.30) with two losses against Sacred Heart (9.23) and FDU (10.7).
- Taking a break from conference play, the Sharks fell in four sets to Binghamton (10.10).
- LIU tallied three wins in its next contests against Merrimack (10.13), Stonehill (10.14), and CCSU (10.20) before losing to Sacred Heart (10.21) and FDU (10.28).
- Camelia Melendez leads the team with 3.31 kills per set but Amaris Smith is not far behind (3.27 kills/set).
- Alasha Colon owns a team-high 5.88 digs per set.
- Rumur Rouille tops the team's effort at the net with over 100 blocks (106 total), including 23 solo.
- Serving as the team's primary setter (632 assists, 7.18/set), Selina Koç also leads with 25 service aces.

- This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

AROUND THE AMERICA EAST
- Binghamton leads the conference with just one conference loss in seven contests.
- UMBC follows with a 5-2 record.
- Bryant and New Hampshire are tied with three losses. The Bulldogs hold the slight edge with four wins to the Wildcats' three.
- UAlbany sits just outside of the tournament top-four with two wins and six losses.
- NJIT rounds out the conference with a single win in seven league matchups.
