SHORT STORY: After a rough start to the day, the Great Danes totaled nine hits in game two to split the day one doubleheader at Stony Brook, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morgan Petty tallied the first hit of the day with a single up the middle in the first inning.
- Maddi Petrella notched a lead-off single in the second inning but neither Great Dane was able to score.
- After going 1-2-3 in the field to close out the second inning, Petty added a second hit in the third inning.
- The Seawolves took a two-run lead to close out the third inning.
- In the fourth, the Great Danes left two on base after Katie Falotico hit a single and Maddi Petrella drew a walk.
- The UAlbany defense notched three-straight outs in the fourth and fifth innings while Alexis Phillips (single) and Falotico (double) each tally their hits in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively.
- Stony Brook secured the victory with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

KEY STATS
- Katie Falotico led with five RBI after tallying a grand slam and a triple at the plate.
- Wendi Hammond followed with three RBI from a home run and a triple.
- Maranda Jimenez went 2-4 at the plate, driving in one RBI.
- Six different Great Danes tallied at least one hit - Alexis Phillips, Jimenez, Falotico, Sierra Fretz, Hammond, and Lové Drumgole.
- Hammond totaled four strikeouts in the circle, including all three outs during the third inning, to take the win. Jimenez added a strikeout to open the final inning.
- UAlbany outhit Stony Brook, 9-6.
- Just three Great Dane runners were left on base throughout the seven innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After UAlbany was unable to put a runner on base, the Seawolves took a four-run lead in the bottom of the first.
- With three hits in the second inning, the Great Danes closed the lead to 4-3. Maddi Petrella (hit-by-pitch) and Sierra Fretz (single) got on base just before Wendi Hammond hit a triple to drive both base runners in. Lové Drumgole hit a single on the very next pitch to grab a third RBI for UAlbany.
- After the first inning, the Great Danes were able to hold off Stony Brook, allowing zero hits through the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings.
- Hammond opened the fifth inning with a home run over the center-field fence to tie the score at four.
- After loading the bases, Katie Falotico grabbed a grand slam over the center-field fence to give the Great Danes a 9-4 lead in the top of the fifth inning.
- Phillips added a single in the sixth but she was left on base.
- Stony Brook totaled two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
- Maranda Jimenez singled up the middle to open the seventh inning just before Falotico hit her second multi-base hit, a triple, to drive in Briana Garrett, who was pinch-running for Jimenez.
- With a 10-6 advantage, the Great Danes left two runners on base to secure the game two victory.
NEXT: The Great Danes are set to close the series with a single game on Sunday (May 1).
