Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team dropped the second game of its series with UMass Lowell 5-6 on Saturday afternoon. Although the Great Danes held the lead for a big portion of the game, the River Hawks were able to tie it up in the seventh and walk it off in the ninth.

Cregg Scherrer threw the ball well today. It was a hard fought game by both teams. Lowell was able to limit some early opportunities we had on offense and that was the difference in the end."

- John Daly went 2-3 with a double and two walks. He picked up one RBI and scored two runs.
- Will Binder (1-5), Johnny Marti (1-3), Will Feil (1-4), Jason Bottari (1-2) and Josh Loeffler (1-3) all recorded one run for the Great Danes. Loeffler collected an RBI and scored a run, Feil drove in one run and Marti crossed home twice.
- Chris Fisher went 0-1 but picked up an RBI.
- UAlbany left ten runners on base, whereas the River Hawks left five.
- Seven Great Danes drew a walk, UMass Lowell recorded five walks.
- Great Dane batters struck out six times, River Hawks struck out ten times.
How it Happened:
- Cregg Scherrer started on the mound for the Great Danes, Hayden Duke started for the River Hawks.
- UMass Lowell opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with an RBI single to center field by Brendon Fish. He drove in Jacob Humphrey.
- The Great Danes took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second. After loading the bases with one out, Chris Fisher was hit by a pitch, scoring Johnny Marti and John Daly scored a second run as Josh Loeffler reached on a fielder's choice.
- The River Hawks made a pitching change and replaced Duke with Ryan Towle midway through third.
- UAlbany added a run to its lead in the top of the fourth when Loeffler crossed home plate on a wild pitch. He previously singled and advanced to third on another single by Will Binder.
- UMass Lowell's Roddy Hernandez knocked in two runs off a single to center field in the bottom of the fourth. Fritz Genther and Robert Gallagher scored.
- The Great Danes took the lead back in the top of the sixth. Marti reached home plate safely all the way from first on an RBI double off Daly's bat and Daly scored himself as Will Feil singled to right field the following at-bat.
- UML head coach Ken Harring was ejected in the sixth following UAlbany's two runs.
- Chase Carroll took the mound for the Great Danes at the start of the bottom of the seventh.
- The River Hawks produced two runs in the same inning, tying the game once again. Humphrey hit an RBI triple to left-center, driving in Alex Luccini and Ryan Proto scored Humphrey with an RBI single up the middle.
- Marshall Winn came in to pitch for UAlbany in the eighth.
- Anthony Germinerio entered the game halfway through the ninth.
- UMass Lowell's Gerry Siracusa hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Luccini.
