Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team fell against #16 Georgia in its first game of the year. The Great Danes fought hard and kept the game close thanks to strong defense, notably from
Will Binder, and a two-run home run from
Brad Malm.
Head Coach Jon Mueller: "We played a clean game defensively and Weber, Tobia, and Winn all threw the ball well. We had limited opportunities against three very good arms."

- UAlbany pitchers allowed four runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts.
- Will Feil, Brad Malm, John Daly, and Ryan Ferremi all recorded hits for UAlbany.
- Malm's lone hit found its way over the left field fence in the eighth inning, scoring Feil.
- Will Binder had a strong day at the hot corner, saving a handful of runs from scoring for the Bulldogs thanks to spectacular defense.

How it Happened:
- Weber started the game for the Great Danes, Jonathan Cannon started for the Bulldogs.
- Georgia took the lead early, with Ben Anderson knocking one out of the park in the first inning.
- The bulldogs added to their lead in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by Joshua McAllister.
- Tobia replaced Weber on the mound after the fourth inning for the Great Danes.
- Jaden Woods replaced Cannon on the mound for the Bulldogs in the seventh inning.
- In the top of the seventh, the Great Danes threatened with runners on first and second with no outs. Binder gave a shot to left field, but came up just short with a fly out to the left field warning track.
- Georgia added to their lead in the bottom half of the seventh off of an RBI single from Acton, scoring Gonzalez.
- Malm brought in the first runs of the season for UAlbany in the eighth, sending a two-run shot over the left field fence to cut the Georgia lead in half. Feil scored after walking earlier in the inning.
- Winn entered the game for UAlbany to start the eighth inning.
- Jack Gowen finished on the mound for Georgia, collecting the save.
