GREAT DANE REWIND
- With a defense-first mentality, UAlbany has risen to number one in the nation, holding its opponents to just 48.4 points per game.
- In addition to scoring defense, the Great Danes are 44th in the country, allowing just a .365 field goal percentage from their opponents.
- UAlbany opened the season on a strong note, defeating Hofstra (11/10) for the first time in program history. The 29-point victory over the Pride served as the first of seven games, so far, in which the Great Danes won by at least 20 points.
- The Great Danes closed their non-conference slate with a 7-4 record.
- In the first month of the America East season, UAlbany completed the series against Hartford, UMBC, and UMass Lowell. The Great Danes split the Hartford and Vermont series and swept both UMBC and UMass Lowell.
- Going undefeated (12-0) at home, all eight of UAlbany's losses have been on the road.
- Sophomore Kayla Cooper (297, 11.9 per game) and junior Helene Haegerstrand (294, 11.8 per game) lead the team with their respective point tallies.
- Redshirt-sophomore Abby Robinson leads the team, shooting 75% (6-8) from 28 minutes of play in 10 games. Senior Lucia Decortes holds a .557 (54-97) shooting percentage, leading all players who have seen the court for more than 40 minutes this season.
- Junior Fatima Lee is shooting 36.8% (7-19) from outside the arc to lead the team. Haegerstrand leads all who have seen more than 100 minutes on the court with a .359 (42-117) shooting percentage.
- Cooper leads the team as the only player with over 150 rebounds. She has totaled 177 (7.1 pg) so far with 109 defensive and 68 offensive rebounds. Decortes passed the 100-rebound mark against Maine, totaling 109 so far.
- Redshirt-sophomore Morgan Haney owns a team-high 57 assists. Freshman Lilly Phillips is close behind with 54.
- Cooper (35) and Haney (34) share the transition spotlight with their respective steal totals.
- Decortes has compiled a team-high 35 blocks. Eleven players on the 13-person roster have totaled at least two blocks.
- Every single player from the 13-person roster saw action and contributed with a point or an assist in the season-opening game - Hofstra.
- Of the 1,444 points scored in 25 games, the bench has tallied 375 points. This includes half (26) of the 52 points scored at Merrimack (11/16), almost half (29) of the 60 points scored against Bryant (12/1), and almost half (32) of the 65 points scored against Canisius (12/15).
- As a team, UAlbany is hitting 40.9% from the field, 32.0% outside the arc, and 66.5% from the free-throw line.
- The Great Danes are averaging 57.8 points per game, 35.6 rebounds per game, and 12.9 assists per game.
ABOUT BINGHAMTON
- The Bearcats are 5-17 overall with a 1-11 America East record.
- Binghamton opened the season with two home wins against Siena (11/9) and Canisius (11/13) before hosting Cornell (11/17) and St. Bonaventure (11/20) for two losses.
- After a win against Mansfield (11/23), the Bearcats fell at Fairleigh Dickinson (12/1) and Lehigh (12/4).
- Binghamton completed its non-conference slate with a win over Pittsburgh-Johnstown (12/7) and a loss against Eastern Michigan (12/10) and Ohio University (12/21).
- The Bearcats saw a loss against NJIT (1/8) for their first America East contest and continued with three losses against Stony Brook (1/19), NJIT (1/22), and Hartford (1/26).
- Binghamton beat UMBC (1/29) for its first conference win of the season.
- The Bearcats have not earned a win since hosting UAlbany on January 31.
- Denai Bowman leads with 307 points but Birna Benonysdottir holds a team-high 14.7 points per game.
- Clare Traegers has totaled 187 rebounds (8.5 per game) to lead the team. She holds team-highs with 41 offensive rebounds and 146 defensive rebounds.
- Zahra Barnes shoots the best from the field (52.2%) and from outside the arc (40%).
- In addition to holding the most points, Bowman has tallied a team-high 82 assists, 41 steals, and 18 blocks.
- As a team, Binghamton is hitting 37.7% from the field, 27.4% outside the arc, and 71.7% from the free-throw line.
- The Bearcats are averaging 56.6 points per game, 36.6 rebounds per game, and 12.2 assists per game.
SERIES AGAINST THE BEARCATS
- The Great Danes hold the lead in the all-time series, 45-27.
- Current head coach, Colleen Mullen, saw three wins against Binghamton in her first season at the helm. This includes an America East Quarterfinal win in 2019.
- During both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, the Great Danes split the wins, going 1-1 each year.
- Earlier this season, the Great Danes defeated Binghamton (1/31) on the road, 52-41.

- Following the close of the non-conference season Stony Brook (9-1), UAlbany (7-4), and Vermont (6-5) were the only three teams with a winning record. NJIT (5-6), Binghamton (4-6), UMass Lowell (3-6), Maine (3-7), New Hampshire (3-8), UMBC (1-9), and Hartford (0-11) each had losing records before the start of the conference season.

- The Great Dane women's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the conference in the preseason coaches' poll. With six first-place votes and 78 total points, Stony Brook was voted to finish first with Maine just behind (74 points, three first-place votes).
