Short Story: The shooting went cold for the University at Albany men's basketball team in the second half, as the Great Danes fell to Siena in the latest edition of the Albany Cup matchup. UAlbany was able to build a 16-point lead early in in the second half, but an 18-0 scoring run for Siena put the crosstown rivals up for good. The Great Danes were held to 28% from the field in the second frame.

- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. led all scorers with 22 points. He led the team in field goals (6-12), threes (5-9) and tied for free throws (5-7).
- Da'Kquan Davis led the UAlbany offense early with eight of the team's first 12 points. The grad student finished with 10, also dishing out two assists and collecting four rebounds.
- Freshman Jonathan Beagle led the team with eight rebounds. The Glens Falls native finished with nine points and went 5-7 from the charity stripe.

How it Happened:
- Trey Hutcheson, Sarju Patel, Da'Kquan Davis, Gerald Drumgoole Jr., and Jonathan Beagle started for the Great Danes.
- Hutcheson scored the first points of the night for UAlbany, hitting a pair from the line.
- UAlbany took a 6-2 lead into the first media timeout thanks to back-to-back buckets from Davis.
- Siena responded with a 7-0 run coming out of the timeout.
- UAlbany's Justin Neely, the 2022-23 America East Rookie of the Year, exited the game at the 12:39 mark with an injury.
- Da'Kquan Davis was responsible for eight of UAlbany's first 12 points.
- By the U-8 media timeout, Siena led by a score of 16-15.
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. went on a run midway through the first half, sinking three-straight from beyond the arc.
- Thanks to a three from Trey Hutcheson as time expired, UAlbany brought a 38-27 lead into the locker room.
