ALBANY, N.Y. - The UAlbany volleyball team is set for two home matches this weekend.
The Great Danes will be hosting their Dig Pink match against Binghamton on Friday. In conjunction with the contest, they are running an online fundraiser through the Side-Out Foundation. For more information on the foundation,

In addition to the Dig Pink fundraiser, the Great Danes will be offering a pre-game dinner. Available at 6:15, UAlbany will offer a slice of pizza to the first 50 students.
After hosting their Dig Pink match, the Great Danes will host a Spread Respect match against Bryant on Sunday. Members from UAlbany's SAAC will attend the match to help 'spread respect' as part of the America East's initiative. For more information,

GREAT DANE REWIND
- The Great Danes opened their home slate with a four-set win over Marist (9/13).
- UAlbany returned from the Cornell Invitational (Sept. 9-10) with two wins and one loss. The Great Danes defeated Temple in four sets before beating the host, Cornell, in five. Colgate took the final match of the weekend in four sets.
- Facing top-tier teams, including #11 Penn State, UAlbany added competition at invitationals hosted by JMU (Aug. 26-27), Navy (Sept. 2-3), and Penn State (Sept. 16-17).
- The Great Danes faced crosstown rival Siena (9/27), winning in four sets, after falling to Chicago State (9/25). In an away match, UAlbany swept Stonehill (10/6) for their sixth win.
- Going 1-3 in conference play, the Great Danes hosted NJIT (10/2) for a victory sweep after a four-set loss to New Hampshire (9/30). UAlbany has added losses to Bryant (10/7) and UMBC (10/16).
- Most recently, the Great Danes hosted Sacred Heart (10/18) in a five-set loss.
- With 243 kills, sophomore Alexa Harris has come to lead the Great Danes on offense, averaging 3.20 kills per set.
- On defense, senior libero Charlotte Macken leads with 4.15 digs per set.
- Sophomore Anissia Wong leads the team in blocks with 42, including a team-high 11 solo blocks. Junior Sadie Brown follows closely with 38 total.
- Senior Malea Stanton serves as the Great Danes' starting setter tallying 584 assists and averaging 8.72 assists per set.
- Junior Kaleigh Fitzgerald holds a team-high 28 service aces.
ABOUT BINGHAMTON
- In 19 matches, the Bearcats own a 13-6 record.
- Binghamton opened their season hosting the Bearcat Classic (8/26-27), finishing with a 2-1 record. The Bearcats picked up wins against Maryland Eastern Shore and Siena and suffered the loss to Boston College.
- Binghamton went 3-0 at the Central Connecticut State Tournament (9/2-3). Beating CCSU, Colombia and St. Peters, all in three-set sweeps.
- Before conference play began, the Bearcats played in the Georgetown Invitational (9/9-10) and West Virginia Tournament (9/15-16), finishing with a 3-3 record throughout the two weekends.
- To start America East play, Binghamton beat New Hampshire (10/2) in the three sets before falling to UMBC (10/7).
- Most recently, the Bearcats have been on a three-game win streak in conference play - picking up wins against NJIT (10/9), Bryant (10/14), and New Hampshire (10/16).
- Tsvetelina Llieva leads the team with 3.64 kills per set.
- Madison Konopka (4.07 digs per set) and Anna Sprys (89.0 total blocks) lead the team's defense.
- Lottie Scully serves as the setter, totaling 578 assists, she averages 8.38 assists per set.
SERIES AGAINST THE BEARCATS
- With a record of 34-13, UAlbany leads the all-time series.
- Most recently, the Great Danes beat the Bearcats in a three-set sweep in their final game of the 2021 regular season. Stanton tallied 18 assists in the win.
- In September of 2021, Binghamton earned their first win over UAlbany since 2016, snapping an eight-game win streak.
ABOUT BRYANT
- The Bulldogs opened the 2022 season with a 1-2 record at the Hofstra Tournament (Aug. 26-27) before hosting and defeating Stonehill (8/30) in three sets.
- Seeing three tournaments in September - Bryant Invitational (Sept. 2-3), Kaiser Classic (Sept. 9-10), and UConn Tournament (Sept. 16-17) - the Bulldogs added four single matches for an 8-5 record throughout the month.
- Bryant started conference play at UMBC (10/1) with a three-set loss.
- The Bulldogs notched their first conference win over UAlbany (10/7) and followed with a second in three sets over New Hampshire (10/9).
