SHORT STORY: UAlbany picked up their first conference win of the 2022 season with a three-set sweep against NJIT, Sunday evening.
COACH JOSH PICKARD: "Very proud of our offensive output tonight. We were able to move the ball around and have a lot of success at the net. Sadie [Brown] played very well tonight and her offense helped propel us."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes scored the first point of the match coming off of a Sadie Brown kill, followed by an early 9-3 lead.
- The Highlanders rallied back to close the gap within one point at 18-17, but UAlbany maintained their lead to win the first set, 25-20
- NJIT tallied the first point of the second set. Trading points early on, the match was tied at 7-7.
- The two sides continued back and forth earning their 14th tie at 19-19.
- The Great Danes were able to hold off the Highlanders in the second set, winning 25-22.
- Starting setter Malea Stanton scored the first point of the third set with a kill. The Great Danes followed with five unanswered points for a 6-0 advantage.
- NJIT was able to close the early lead to three points, before the Great Danes tallied a second scoring run, making the score, 12-6.
- UAlbany rallied another run, building a ten-point lead in the process, leaving the score at 18-8.
- The Highlanders attempted to rally a comeback, bringing the score to 23-17, but the Great Danes finished the third set, 25-18, notching a three-set sweep.
NEXT: The Great Danes will head on the road for a mid-week matchup at Stonehill on Thursday (Oct. 6) and a match at Bryant on Friday (Oct. 7).
