How it Happened
- UAlbany applied pressure early scoring the opening goal, but despite outshooting Binghamton 13-10 the Great Danes entered the half down 2-1.Â
- Binghamton had a chance to score early as UAlbany goalkeeper Megan Hart saved Victoria McKnight's shot, and Maya Anand picked up the rebound and sent her shot over the bar from six yards out for a goal kick.Â
- UAlbany scored the opening goal as freshman Selma Elverum dribbled through the Binghamton midfield, and gave a through ball to junior Olivia Piraino who finished near side into the bottom right corner, just six-and-a-half minutes into the first half.Â
- Senior Tiffany Bernot nearly notched a second goal for the Great Danes, but was rejected by the crossbar on a free kick just outside of the box.Â
- Binghamton equalized in the 36th minute when Anand passed across the top of the box to McKnight, who curled the ball into the left corner.Â
- Binghamton took the lead in the 41st minute. Erin Hogan picked up a loose ball and assisted Maya Anand who scored from within the Great Danes' six-yard box.Â
- Binghamton scored their third goal less than five minutes into the second half. Â Olivia McKnight scored with her head on a rebounded shot from Anand which was denied by the crossbar.Â
- UAlbany nearly pulled one back in the 51st minute as senior Sahara Zingano had a chance inside the box, but Binghamton goalkeeper Kaitlyn Williams was in position to make the save.Â
- Binghamton's defense was able to hold off the UAlbany attack, allowing the Great Danes only five shots in the second half to secure the 3-1 win. Â
