Head Coach Leigh Howard: "Playing a team like BC this time of year provided us with a good opportunity to step away from conference play and continue to test ourselves against a worthy opponent. I was really happy how some of the players who haven't yet been called upon stepped in to fill vital roles today and performed. We continue to have more work to do, as shown by the result, but we're happy to head into the weekend having learned a bit more about ourselves."

How it Happened
Â
- Boston College jumped on the board quickly with a goal in the 2nd minute. Laura Gouvin beat a diving Andrea Leitner, making her second start in goal this season, to put the Eagles on top right away.
- UAlbany's defense held for the remainder of the first half, allowing seven more shots but not surrendering another goal, despite the Eagles drawing five corner kicks. Offensively, UAlbany managed five shots in the first 45 minutes, three of which were on-target.
- Boston College once again scored quickly to start the second half. Sam Smith scored her first of two goals in the 48th minute off an assist from Jenna Bike.
- Smith found the back of the net once more, in the 60th minute, off an assist from Rebecca Groseibl, to put the Eagles up 3-0. The Boston College defense shored up in the second half as well, allowing just one UAlbany shot.
- Boston College went on to win by the same score, 3-0. With the defeat, the Great Danes fall to 31-12-4 at Casey Stadium since the start of the 2015 season, the year of their first America East title.
