Short Story: UAlbany earns its first conference victory of the season in a 3-2 win over NJIT.  
 
Coach Pickard: "It's great to get the America East conference season started. We had a balanced offensive attack with kills spread between Danielle Tedesco, Noa Brach and Kamara Kelly. It was great to see the team fight and get a win in five sets."
 
Key Stats 

• UAlbany took the fifth set 15-7 after NJIT won the fourth set 25-20 to force the decisive fifth frame
• NJIT took the first set before UAlbany took the second and third set
• Danielle Tedesco had a match-high 7 block assists and a team-high 13 kills
• Kamara Kelly recorded a team-high 23 digs and Charlotte Macken had 21
• NJIT's Udo Nwosu and Elley Torres recorded a match-high 14 kills each
• Malea Stanton had 22 assists and Maddie Stone collected 22, while NJIT's Kyla Lannert had a match-high 38.
• Freshman Hannah Rowe started all-five sets for the second-straight match and recorded 10 kills and nine digs
• NJIT played New Hampshire after UAlbany, and lost 3-1 to the Wildcats. 

Honoring Seniors
The Great Danes honored six players after the conclusion of Saturday's contest. Those honored with a framed jersey and video tribute were senior Danielle Tedesco, red-shirt junior Selah Malcoln and juniors Olivia Dykstra, Maddie Stone, Andersen Vaughan and Taylor Didawick. The juniors who were honored will be graduating early.
"The most special part of the night was getting the chance to honor our seniors," said coach Josh Pickard. "I know it wasn't the same as we are used to, but the impact they have brought to the program is immeasurable. We are proud of what they have accomplished and are excited for what's to come."
