Short Story: UAlbany drops its first conference game of the season 2-1 to Binghamton after Noah Luescher scores twice for the Bearcats.

Coach Gorman: "Of course we're disappointed with the end result today, it's a game we felt we should have won. Our big picture goals are to keep learning and improving and that's definitely happening. We were much improved from a week ago. A few individual moments hurt us and we'll certainly address those as we move forward and keep growing this group."

  • UAlbany's first shot of the game came from forward Austin DaSilva who missed wide from outside the corner of the six-yard box. DaSilva returned to dangerous territory with a shot that was blocked. Cristian Campagna was assessed a yellow card at 28:47.
  • After a fast start from Binghamton, UAlbany turned the momentum with DaSilva's offensive efforts before the Bearcats' Noah Luescher scored the game's first goal. His tally from inside the 18-yard box, assisted by Michael Bush, gave Binghamton a 1-0 lead at the 28:58 mark.
  • After Luescher gave Binghamton a 1-0 lead, he created the next shot of the contest before UAlbany had the final two shots of the half. Adam Aoumaich and Alex Bourgeois both missed high and Binghamton took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • Then Great Danes entered the second half with all the pressure, as they earned three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes. Guillermo Mijancos created a scoring chance from inside the 18-yard box that was saved.
  • On the Great Danes' fourth corner kick of the half, Haflidi Sigurdarson gave UAlbany the game-tying goal. The ball bounced around inside the six-yard box before Sigurdarson tipped it just over the goal line at 58:03 and tied the game 1-1.
