Head Coach Leigh Howard: "Tonight we have to give a ton of credit to Vermont, their staff, and their players. We came out after a couple of great results, trying to build on our momentum, and they did a great job of shutting that down. Some nights the cards just don't fall in your favor and when Devon went down in the back things started to fall out of place. Regardless of that, our players kept fighting until the end and that's very reflective of this season. We kept fighting against the odds, no matter who was called upon. I am proud of this group, and we will miss the seniors and fifth-years who have invested so much time and emotion into the program over their careers."

How it Happened
- Eight minutes into the first half, Jasmine Colbert took on three Vermont defenders before taking a shot from the top of the Vermont box. Colbert's shot was blocked by the Catamount defense.
- UAlbany took three shots before Vermont attempted their first, for which Devon Schmitt blocked Vermont's attempt at the top of the UAlbany box before it became a threat.
- In the 21st minute, Olivia Piraino was taken down in the Vermont box. Jasmine Colbert took the ensuing penalty kick, which was partially deflected by Vermont goalkeeper Lydia Kessel before bouncing off the right post and rolling over the line to put UAlbany up 1-0.
- Jasmine Colbert had another shot against a charging Kessel in the 34th, saved, and continued into a transition opportunity for the Catamounts. At the end of the play, Karen Wallace beat UAlbany goalkeeper Cassandra Coster off setups on the break from Jill Brody and Kate Bossert to tie the game at one.
- Towards the end of the first half, Piraino ripped a shot that soared just high over the Vermont crossbar. The game would remain tied at one heading into halftime.
- Vermont quickly took the lead in the second half, scoring in the 52nd minute when Alex West connected with Alexa Mihale. Later, in the 65th, Wallace scored again to put Vermont up 3-1, this time off a setup from Natalie Duriex.
- UAlbany had two final chances in the final two minutes, with shots from Jada Colbert and Iola Cotter that landed wide and high, respectively. The Catamounts would go on to win by the same score, 3-1.
- The game was played relatively evenly, with Vermont holding only narrow advantages in shots take, 16-15, and in corner kicks drawn, 4-3. Jasmine Colbert led all players with eight shots taken, five of which were on target. Coster finished the game with five saves.
