SHORT STORY: The Great Danes scored three goals in the first quarter before taking the 5-4 victory, Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes opened the scoring less than four minutes into the game. On their second penalty corner of the quarter, Alison Smisdom put UAlbany on the board with a goal from about 10 yards out. Originally inserted by Lara Mortz, Charlotte Triggs and Floor de Ruiter provided two quick stops to confuse the defense before Smisdom took the shot.
- With the score tied at one, Triggs and Julie Rodijk scored two goals in 70 seconds to put the Great Danes up, 3-1 before the end of the first quarter.
- Triggs scored with style, completing the go-ahead goal as she dribbled into the circle for a shot from the right. Rodijk, assisted by Mortz, tallied a goal during a corner just a minute later.
- Just before the second quarter closed, freshman Isabella Del Vecchio drew a penalty stroke with 33 seconds on the clock. Smisdom took the stroke to add to UAlbany's lead as the team entered halftime with a three-goal lead.
- The Aggies came back in the third quarter to tie the score, 4-4.
- Smisdom completed the hat trick with the game-winning goal during a penalty corner at the end of the third. Earning two corners back-to-back, the Great Danes scored with 0:00 on the clock after starting a corner with just one second left in the quarter.
NEXT: The Great Danes will close the regular season at home against California on Sunday, October 31.
