Led by goals from Kaio DaSilva and Austin DaSilva, the UAlbany men's soccer team recorded its second win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Marist Wednesday night.
The Great Danes have now won two straight against the Red Foxes after their 4-3 win in 2018.
In the first half, the Red Foxes had their opportunities outshooting the Great Danes seven to six. Marist also had three corner kicks to UAlbany's one, but were unable to beat Hjerten. The freshman goalkeeper ended up making three saves in the half.
In the 35th minute, the Great Danes were able to take advantage of a yellow card going against Marist. K. DaSilva took a quick shot that was able to beat the Red Foxes' goalkeeper up high for a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Marist kept the pressure on taking 10 shots to UAlbany's six. The Red Foxes also had seven more corner kick opportunities, but were unable to score.
UAlbany took a 2-0 lead in the 82nd minute after Niklas Roessler passed to A. DaSilva who was in front of the Marist goalkeeper, and was able to score.
Marist scored a late goal in the 89th minute, but the Great Danes held on for the win.
