BOSTON – For their efforts in the regular season's penultimate game on Sunday against Maine, the University at Albany women's soccer program's Kendra Harbinger and Leah Pais were named America East Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.  They were named alongside Defensive Player Sofia Manner from Stony Brook.

Harbinger, a defender/forward from Clifton Park, N.Y., scored the game-tying goal against Maine off a set piece early in the first half.  In the next minute, she set up the go-ahead goal, finding teammate and fellow Clifton Park native Meghan Cavanaugh to put UAlbany up 2-1.  Harbinger has scored on a set piece in two-consecutive games, finding the back of the net directly off a corner kick in double overtime last week against UMass Lowell.  This is Harbinger's first weekly award as a member of the women's soccer program.  She has previously won eight weekly awards in women's lacrosse: one Offensive Player of the Week and seven Rookies of the Week.

Pais, a forward from Mississauga, Ontario, scored twice in the game against Maine, first to cap a three-goals-in-four-minutes barrage in the first half, and next on a penalty kick in the second half to extend the Great Danes' lead to three over the Black Bears.  It was Pais' second successful penalty kick this season, resulting in her first Rookie of the Week award.  Pais is UAlbany's first Rookie of the Week since Andrea Leitner on October 23, 2017.

The Great Danes wrap the 2019 regular season at Vermont on Thursday, October 31.  The America East Tournament begins Sunday, November 3 with the quarterfinal round.
