Short Story: In a rematch of the 2018 America East Championship, the UAlbany volleyball team came out on top this time, defeating Stony Brook in a five set thriller Friday night.
Coach Pickard: “Very proud of the team's fight tonight. We settled into a rhythm and came back from a couple of significant deficits. Pritchard Gymnasium is always a tough environment to play in and the team played together and got the win. Congrats to Akua on passing the 1,000 kill mark tonight, it's been great to see her grow as a player and eclipse a significant mark.
Akuabata Okenwa: “I'm so proud of my team. We really came together and played our hearts out. After a tough loss last year, this game meant a lot to us. I think we showed true grit the way we fought until the end. I could never have accomplished 1,000 kills without the support and encouragement my teammates give me day in and day out.”
