Towson quarterback Tom Flacco threw for 306 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the No. 13-ranked Tigers to a 56-28 victory over the University at Albany football team Saturday in a Colonial Athletic Association Game at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
Playing in front of homecoming crowd of 7,029 fans, the Great Danes got another big game from junior wide receiver Juwan Green, who caught touchdown passes of 50 and 60 yards from Vincent Testaverde.
But Towson, which sits alone in first place atop the CAA standings, scored 28 points in the second quarter in dealing UAlbany its third consecutive defeat.
Trailing 10-0 in the first quarter, the Great Danes got on the board when Testaverde connected with Green on his first TD, this one for 60 yards. On the play, Testaverde faked a handoff, then fired a pass to a streaking Green, who outran two defensive backs on his way to the end zone.
Testaverde added a 1-yard TD run with 5:55 left in the half that pulled UAlbany within 24-14. The run was set up by clever play that saw Testaverde give to Ibitokun-Hanks, who then flipped the ball to Jerah Reeves on a reverse. Reeves rolled left and found Green 22 yards downfield, setting up the Great Danes from the 1.
Green scored on another long TD before halftime, hauling in a 50-yard pass along the left sideline to make the score 38-21 Towson at the intermission.
The Tigers extended their lead in the third quarter on a 45-yard field goal and Flacco's 2-yard touchdown run.
Karl Mofor added a late touchdown run for UAlbany.

UAlbany travels to No. 16 Maine next week in its second of three straight games against teams currently ranked in the STATS Top 25.
