TEANECK, N.J.- A penalty-kick goal by Jack McVey and a header by Jan Aubert in a two-minute span early in the first half would lead Fairleigh Dickinson over UAlbany, 4-0, on Friday, September 7 at University Stadium. The Great Danes fall to 2-2 while the Knights improve to 3-1.

Early in the first half, Fairleigh Dickinson (3-1) would get on the scoreboard first by creating a foul inside the goalie box to allow Jack Mcvey to convert a penalty kick in the 25th minute. Then just two minutes later, the Knights would score again, this time Mcvey volleyed a cross inside the box to teammate Jan Aubert to give FDU a 2-0 lead in the 27^th minute.

Down 2-0 at the half, UAlbany (2-2) looked to cut the deficit in the 63^rd minute as midfielder Anthony Rozzano came storming into the box and launched a shot just over the crossbar.

"Tonight was a difficult lesson for us to learn", said head coach Trevor Gorman on the loss. "We were reminded by a good Fairleigh Dickinson team of the high level of concentration and effort required during a college soccer match. It's important that we take what we experienced tonight and make it a positive moving forward".

Then just minutes later, Simon Doherty would give FDU a 3-0 lead with redirected shot off of Godfred Baafi's blocked shot. Finally in the 86^th minute, the Knight's Nico Wright would cap the match off by converting the second penalty kick of the game to end the match at 4-0.

UAlbany goalkeepers Tim Allen, in 84 minutes played, would tally six saves on eight chances and Tim Mingione, in the final six minutes, converted just one save on three chances. FDU goalkeeper Jacob Lissek would finish the match with a clean sheet, making just one save.

The Great Danes will look ahead to Hofstra on Sunday, September 9 at Skidmore College (2 p.m.).
