Bucknell Hands UAlbany Its Fourth-Consecutive Loss, 4-0, On Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior defender Mayowa Alli's two goals lead Bucknell over UAlbany, 4-0, on Sunday, September 16 at Emmitt Varsity Soccer Field. The Class of 1998 Invitational All-Team members for the Great Danes were freshman midfielder Anthony Rozzano and sophomore co-captain Dominic McGarr.

Bucknell (4-1-2) opened up the game with two goals for a 2-0 lead going into the half. Bison's Mayowa Alli struck first in the 15th minute with a standing header from a volley by teammate Josh Butzke inside the goalie box. Then in the 45th minute, Alli headed in the games second goal over UAlbany defender Dominic McGarr to put Bucknell up 2-0.

The Bison would add to their lead in the 59th minute, as Brendan Burgdorf charged into the goalie box to send in the cross from Josh Plump past UAlbany goalie Tim Allen. Allen stayed busy in net with four more shots on net. In the 90th minute, Bison forward Brian Ward would cap the game off with an insurance goal.

Allen would tally seven saves on 11 chances for the day. Allen's counterpart, Mike Lansing, would complete his second clean sheet of the season, saving two shots in the match.

The Great Danes continue their four-match road trip next weekend, playing Buffalo on Friday, September 21 then Siena on Sunday, September 23. The match against Siena will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports.
