Boston, Mass. - Lindsey Lowrie scored a game-high 15 points while Ebone Henry posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead UAlbany to a 48-41 win over Boston U. in America East Conference women's basketball action at Case Gym on Saturday afternoon. With the win, UAlbany improves to 19-9 overall and 13-2 in conference play. The Great Danes handed the Terriers their first league loss, and now sit just a half game back from first place and their first ever regular season championship.

After almost two minutes of scoreless action to start the game, UAlbany rolled out a 15-0 run that was capped by a layup by Henry at 12:49. Boston U. finally scored its first points of the game on a jumper by Troi Melton to end the rally, but UAlbany was not slowing down. Two made free throws by Caroline Stewart pulled the Terriers to within 26-11 with 5:38 to go, but Lowrie nailed a 3-pointer to give the Great Danes their largest lead of the game, 29-11, with 4:45 left to play in the first half. Stewart and Mollie McKendrick scored consecutive baskets to try to pull Boston U. back into the game, but Megan Craig kept the Great Danes up by 16, taking an assist from Henry and converting a jumper in the paint. Rashidat Agboola hit a layup with 10 seconds remaining, but Lowrie gave UAlbany the last word, setting the halftime score at 33-17.

Boston U. tried to rally out of the halftime break, but the Great Danes were on fire, building up a 19-point advantage, 40-21, with just under 13 minutes to play in the game. Stewart attempted to spark a comeback for the Terriers, as her basket at 12:21 sparked a 9-0 run that closed the gap to 10 points before Henry nailed a trey to get the Great Danes back on track. However, with 5:17 left to play, Alex Young sank a long-range shot of her own, getting Boston U. to within eight, 45-37, which was the closest the Terriers had gotten since early in the game. UAlbany held on, getting a layup from Adrienne Jones to keep Boston U. at bay. Lowrie hit 1-of-2 free throws with 35 seconds left, before Melton hit a jumper with seven seconds remaining to set the final score.

Stewart led Boston U. (20-7, AE 13-1) with 14 points, while also grabbing nine boards. Agboola also grabbed nine rebounds for the Terriers, who shot 29.8 percent (17-57) from the floor in the game.

Henry, who played all but one minute for the Great Danes, also recorded six steals. Julie Forster, who struggled from the floor, scored all six of her points at the free throw line, while also grabbing nine rebounds and recording four steals and two blocks. Tabitha Makopondo managed six boards and two blocks.

UAlbany (19-9, AE 13-2) will look to post its first-ever 20-win season on Wednesday, as the Great Danes wrap up the regular season at home against Binghamton at 7 p.m.
