Hamilton, N.Y.- The UAlbany men's soccer team fell to Colgate, 3-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Van Doren Field. The Great Danes were outshot 17-9 and lost in corner kicks, 5-2. UAlbany will look to bounce back on Saturday, Oct. 8 to host Hartford at 4pm at Varsity Field.
The Raiders (6-2) found the back of the net in the 14th minute when teammate junior goalkeeper Grant Reed setup senior forward Steven Miller to grab the 1-0 lead. The Great Danes were able to get off two shots in the first half.
Colgate was able to add onto the lead, in the second half, with a goal in the 53rd minute with an unassisted goal by sophomore forward Scott Brown.Then the third and final goal in the 82nd minute from junior forward Shane Conlin to win 3-0.
UAlbany's (4-6) junior goalkeeper Scott Kessler got his second start in net and tallied six saves on nine chances. Colgate recorded a combine shutout from goalkeeper's Reed and senior Chris Miller and tallied three saves.
