Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Overtime Decision to New Hampshire; Kessler Makes Three Saves

Durham, N.H. - Freshman midfielder Stephen Palumbo netted his third goal of the season in the 92nd minute to lead New Hampshire to a 1-0 overtime victory over UAlbany in America East Conference men's soccer action on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Lewis Fields.
     After two scoreless halves, New Hampshire netted the golden goal just 1:19 into the first sudden-victory overtime period. Palumbo, who was named the league's rookie of the week on Monday, received a pass at the top of the box from Charlie Roche and blasted a shot to the right corner of the net.
     New Hampshire (7-3-5, AE 2-2-2), which has only allowed eight goals all season, outshot UAlbany, 13-10, while the Great Danes had a 6-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities. Scott Kessler made three saves on 13 chances for UAlbany in the losing effort, while New Hampshire's Colin O'Donnell turned away five of the 10 shots he faced to earn his league-leading seventh shutout of the season and the win.
     UAlbany (5-9-1, AE 1-4-1) will wrap up its regular-season schedule with possible postseason implications on the line when it visits Boston University on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.
