Harford, Conn. - Kami Nethersole recorded a match-high 19 kills and 10 digs to lead Hartford to a 3-2 win over UAlbany in America East Conference volleyball action on Sunday afternoon at the Sports Center. The Hawks ended the Great Danes' 26-match winning streak in conference play with scores of 26-24, 13-25, 25-21, 14-25 and 15-11.

            Casey Wright led three players in double-digit kills for UAlbany with 17 on .310 hitting. Wright also recorded six digs and four blocks for the Great Danes. Teresa Coppiellie and Traci Vandegrift both finished with double-doubles of the kill-dig variety. Coppiellie totaled 14 kills and 14 digs along with two service aces, while Vandegrift added 16 kills and 13 digs, hitting .412 and recording four blocks. Setter Abbey Wexel also finished with a double-double, finishing with 41 assists and 10 digs. Wexel recorded three of the Great Danes' 10 service aces and added four kills. Libero Laurie Gonzalez led UAlbany defensively with 18 digs, while Lindsey McCloskey was the fifth player with double-digit dig totals, coming up with 10.

            Nethersole was one of two players with double-digit kill totals, along with Dionna Kirton, who finished with 14 kills to go along with 19 digs. Setter Lindsay Ford recorded a double-double of 52 assists and 10 digs, while libero Danielle Etta led all players with 20 digs. UAlbany outblocked the Hawks, 8-6, and hit .231 as a team, while holding Hartford (6-16, AE 1-4) to a .171 team hitting percentage.

            UAlbany (14-6, AE 4-1) will return to action on Friday, hosting America East rival Binghamton at 7 p.m. at University Gym.
