A member of the UAlbany Athletics administration since 2013, Travis Wilson currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations.
As Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, Wilson serves as a member of the department's leadership team and has sport supervisory responsibilities for men's & women's cross country and the men's and women's indoor/outdoor track & field programs. He oversees all financial operations for the athletic department, including oversight of most internal operations. He is involved in all head coaching searches while also serving as the liaison to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for Athletics. Travis has helped develop/implement strategic initiatives within Athletics and served as a member of the University’s Strategic Planning Committee.
In 2013, he began working at UAlbany as a staff assistant before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Business. He was furhter promoted to his current position in 2018.
In addition to his work at UAlbany, he serves on the Coaches vs. Cancer committee for the Capital District chapter which has raised over $1.6 million for cancer research. He worked closely with the American Cancer Society to create UAlbany’s Pink Football Game which raises money for breast cancer awareness and research.
A native of Stillwater, New York, Wilson has been a part of the UAlbany community since 2007, starting as a student-athlete on the baseball team. A two-year team captain and four-year letterwinner, he helped UAlbany to three America East Championship games in his time. Known for his excellent pickoff move, he remains second in program history in pickoffs.
He graduated from UAlbany in 2010 with a degree in communications and earned his master’s degree in educational administration in 2012. He is working on his Ph. D in Educational Administration.
The son of Greg and Sally Wilson, his father is a Hall of Fame member at HVCC and Oswego State University, as well as a member of the Upstate New York Basketball Hall of Fame, for his achievements in the sport of basketball. He resides in Saratoga Springs, NY with his wife Lizzie.
