Jessup Pierce joined the UAlbany athletics department as the Coordinator of Academic Eligibility and Certification in April of 2024.
As the Coordinator of Academic Eligibility and Certification, Pierce oversees initial eligibility, academic eligibility certification, and the transfer certification process for all the University’s intercollegiate teams. Joining an experienced compliance staff, Pierce will be involved in all NCAA reporting, with specific focus on the University’s Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and Academic Progress Rate (APR).
Pierce arrived at UAlbany after serving for more than eighteen years as a member of the College of Saint Rose Athletics Department. At Saint Rose, he served in several roles including Assistant Athletic Trainer, Assistant AD for Operations and most recently as Associate Athletics Director. Pierce also served as a member of the Senior Management Team at Saint Rose for six years and served a term as Interim Director of Athletics.
In addition to his primary duties at Saint Rose, Pierce served twice as Tournament Director of the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Tournament, was appointed to the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee for Men’s Basketball and was a member of the college’s Event Coordination Team, Title IX Team and Bias Response Team. He also was Co-Chair of the Covid-19 Return to Athletics Plan.
Pierce graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2003 and currently resides in Delmar, NY, with his wife Lauren and children Jack, Nora, and Luke.
