Emma Maturo joined the UAlbany rowing coaching staff in 2026 after competing for the Great Danes during the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., she rowed all four years at Liverpool High School before continuing her collegiate career at UAlbany.
During the 2025–26 season, Maturo earned CAA All-Conference honors while competing in the bow seat of the Varsity 8+. She helped the Great Danes to a fifth-place finish in the Grand Final at the CAA Championship, a sixth-place finish in the Bergman Trophy Grand Final at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta and a fifth-place finish at the New York State Collegiate Championships. During the fall season, she helped UAlbany to a first-place finish in the Collegiate 8+ at the Mohawk Fall Classic.
A member of UAlbany’s inaugural rowing season in 2024–25, Maturo competed in the Varsity 4+ and was named to the 2025 FSN Spring Watch List. She helped the Great Danes to a first-place finish in the Petit Final at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta, a second-place finish at the Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships and a third-place finish in the Grand Final at the New York State Collegiate Championships.
Maturo began her coaching career with ARC Masters in the summer of 2025 and joined BH Juniors in 2026.
Maturo earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from UAlbany in the Spring of 2026 and is pursuing a master’s degree in Data Science.
