Strandemo joined the Great Dane coaching staff in the fall of 2025.
Strandemo brings a wide range of competitive experience to UAlbany. A standout at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as a Ragin’ Cajun, he earned Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament honors in 2014 and was a two-time Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. He graduated with a degree in management and a minor in international business, receiving the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key as the top graduate in the College of Business.
As an amateur, Strandemo captured medalist honors at the 2014 U.S. Amateur Public Links qualifier and advanced to match play at the championship. He also earned multiple top finishes at the Qatar Amateur Open between 2014–2018 and won both the Minnesota State Junior Championship (2010) and The Resorters tournament (2015).
Since turning professional in 2018, Strandemo has competed across the globe, including events in the United States, Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East. Most recently, he placed third at the Sunshine Tour’s first stage qualifying school in Johannesburg and tied for 24th at the final stage to narrowly miss full tour status.
Originally from Minnesota, Strandemo spent much of his childhood overseas in China and the Middle East. He and his wife, Danielle, relocated to the Capital Region and enjoy exploring the outdoors of the Northeast.
