Ben Moxley

Ben Moxley joined the Great Danes in the summer of 2023 as the team’s pitching coach. As the team’s pitching coach, Moxley is responsible for overseeing the daily routine of the pitching staff. In addition, he serves as an academic coach for new student-athletes in the program, handles team equipment, aids in scouting opponents, and assists the coaching staff in recruiting throughout the year.

Moxley joined the Great Danes after spending four years at Clarkson university. There, he started as a graduate assistant coach before being promoted to the teams pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. He was responsible for monitoring the academic well-being of student-athletes while also coordinating all meals for team travel and designing daily practice and individual development plans.

A graduate of the College at Brockport in May of 2018, Moxley spent his last year there as an assistant coach with the Golden Eagles. Brockport finished with 18 wins an appearance in the SUNYAC Tournament.

Moxley pitched at three different schools over the course of his collegiate career. He began at Herkimer Community College, helping the Generals to 72 wins in two seasons, including a trip to the NJCAA College World Series in 2014 where Herkimer came in third in the nation. That year, Moxley went 5-1 with 46 strikeouts and a 2.41 earned run average in 41 innings pitched. After completing his schooling at the junior college, Moxley then headed to national powerhouse SUNY Cortland, tossing 26.2 innings with a 3-1 record and helping in two shutouts, as the Red Dragons went to the Division III College World Series in 2016. Finally, Moxley spent his last year of eligibility with Brockport, gaining a spot in the weekend rotation. He struck out 37 hitters and picked up three victories in 40 innings of work for the Golden Eagles in 2017.
