High School
Hiett was a three-year letter-winner in track and field, wrestling, and diving at Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona. He was captain of his diving team as a junior and a senior. He was named diving team MVP in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and track team MVP in 2011, 2012, and 2013. In track, he was also named Most Improved, and was a member of the 50-point, 100-point, and High Point clubs. In wrestling, Hiett was named Most Improved in 2009 and 2012, and was a recipient of the Eddie Basha award.

Nathan Aaron Hiett is the son of Neal and Kelly Hiett in Tempe, Arizona. He has one brother, Seth, and one sister, Peyton. He intends to major in human biology.
