September 16
Female – Pinar Erol, Volleyball
Hometown: Istanbul, Turkey
Pinar Erol earned Athlete of the Week honors after recording 57 kills across three matches at the Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament hosted by Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y.. Erol posted 22 kills against Dartmouth on Sept. 11, followed by 19 kills and 17 digs against Colgate and 16 kills in UAlbany's five-set victory over Northeastern.
Male – BJ Norman, Football
Hometown: Roosevelt, N.Y.
BJ Norman earned Athlete of the Week honors after catching a 20-yard touchdown pass in UAlbany's 35-13 victory over LIU on Sept. 12. Norman finished with 45 receiving yards and a touchdown, the first of his career, helping the Great Danes improve to 2-1 overall.
September 9
Female – Sydney Kofton, Women's soccer
Hometown: Norton, Mass.
Sydney Kofton scored twice on four shots, including three on goal, in UAlbany's 2-1 victory over Le Moyne on Sept. 6. Kofton converted two of her three shots on target to account for all of the Great Danes' goals in the victory.
Male – Alexander Genz, Men's Soccer
Hometown: Lower Saxony, Germany
Alexander Genz played all 90 minutes and recorded his second consecutive clean sheet in UAlbany's 1-0 victory over Dartmouth, making one save. His crucial stop in the 84th minute helped preserve the shutout and secure UAlbany's second straight victory.
September 2
Female – Campbell Robinson, Volleyball
Hometown: Loveland, Ohio
Campbell Robinson of volleyball earns Athlete of the Week honors after posting a .360 hitting percentage with 23 kills and 11 total blocks against Iowa, Sacred Heart and Army West Point at the Black Knight Invitational.
Male – Joey Koch, Football
Hometown: Mahopac, N.Y.
Joey Koch earned Athlete of the Week honors after rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, including a 79-yard run, against New Hampshire.
