This Week in UAlbany Athletics: August 31

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women's soccer program returns for two contests this week. 

Thursday, September 3

The UAlbany women's soccer team is set to take on Stonehill Thursday evening in Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. Kiara Levac and Oluchi Njoku currently lead the team, each with two points from one goal. Claudia Volino has started all four games in net fot the Great Danes, recording 20 saves and a .679 save percentage.

The Skyhawks enter Thursday's match after a 1-1 draw with Vermont on Sunday, August 30. Stonehill has three players with three points from one goal and one assist (Kayla Cassidy, Holley MacClellan, and Annie Renz). Jenna Hamel played all 450 minutes of the 2026 season for Stonehill, and has recorded a .741 save percentage.

Thursday's match marks the first women's soccer contest between UAlbany and Stonehill. 

Sunday, September 6

Prior to Sunday's matchup, Le Moyne is set to take on Siena on Wednesday, September 2. The Dolphins will go into Wednesday's contest coming off their first win of the season against Saint Peter's University. Emma Sousa leads Le Moyne with four points from two goals. In net, Mikayla McPheron has started and played all six games thus far for the Dolphins, and recorded a .755 save percentage.

UAlbany leads the overall series between the two teams, securing the win in their first meeting last season.
