Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team dropped both games against Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon, despite a strong effort in the second game of the day's doubleheader.

How it Happened Game 1:
  • Ethan Nardacci started on the mound for the Great Danes, Lukas Pirko started for the Red Raiders.
  • Texas Tech took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single and a fielder's choice.
  • The Red Raiders added four runs in the second on five hits to push the lead to 6-0.
  • Texas Tech added five more runs in the third.
  • With two outs in the third, Zach Nalawadi replaced Nardacci on the mound for the Great Danes.
  • The Red Raiders added three more runs in the third, pushing their lead to 14-0.
  • Texas Tech extended its lead by one in the fourth, 15-0.

  • Luke Filippi opened the scoring with a three-run homerun in the top of the third, putting the Great Danes up 3-0.
  • Jonny Lowe replaced Beccerra on the mound for the Red Raiders in the top of the fourth.
  • In the bottom of the fourth, Texas Tech scored off a balk to bring the score to 3-1.
  • Alex Anea replaced Mello on the mound in the bottom of the fifth for the Great Danes.
  • Texas Tech pushed the score to 3-2 on a solo homer from Connor Shouse in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Will Jordan replaced Lowe on the mound for Texas Tech in the top of the sixth.
