UAlbany football returns for another game under the Casey Stadium lights this Saturday as the team hosts Cornell in a “White Out.” The Great Danes will wear their white uniforms at home, something that the Capital Region faithful haven’t seen in years. Fans are encouraged to wear white to match the team in a sea of white attire. Saturday’s game is presented by Reimer Heating, Cooling & Plumbing.
Saturday’s matchup will mark the second time the two New York foes meet in the last two years. A season ago, UAlbany visited the Big Red in Ithaca and secured a 31-10 victory on the road.
UAlbany is coming off a 24-17 setback against New Haven. Quarterback Jack Shields threw for 396 yards, going 31-53 on pass attempts. Hit favorite targets – Carter Moses and Caden Burti. Moses finished with a team best nine receptions for 119 yards. Burti wasn’t far behind, finishing with five receptions for 117 yards. Griffin Woodell led the ground game with 39 rushing yards. Defensively, Ron Holmes led the team with eight tackles and one tackle for loss.
Over 6,000 fans were in attendance for the team’s home opener. The Great Danes are looking to keep the home energy rolling for the second of six home games in 2025.
