How it Happened
  • Aidan Gelbsman started the game for the Great Danes and Brendan Holland started on the mound for UMass Lowell.
  • UAlbany struck first after scoring three in the first inning. Ryan Ferremi homered in the first at bat of the game, Luke Filippi hit an RBI double, and Anthony Scarabino drove in Filippi with a single.
  • UMass Lowell then scored one in the bottom of the first to make the score 3-1.
  • Matthew Mariano came in to pitch for the Danes in the bottom of the fourth.
  • The River Hawks scored another four in the fourth to take a two-run lead.
  • UMass Lowell then scored another two in the fifth and one more in the eighth.
  • In the top of the ninth the Danes put up nine runs to take the lead, highlighted by Luke Myers hitting his first career homer which scored Anthony Scarabino and Levi McAllister.
  • The River Hawks scored one more run in the bottom of the ninth, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
