Short Story: The fifth-seeded University at Albany baseball team took down the top-seeded Bryant Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon to advance to the Semifinals of the 2025 Northeast Delta Dental America East Championship. The Great Danes were powered by a five-RBI performance from
Levi McAllister, four RBIs from
Jared Toby, and a stellar start from redshirt freshman
Aidan Gelbsman.

- Levi McAllister had an outstanding day at the plate, hitting two doubles and a home run en route to a five-RBI performance. The catcher was named the Northeast Delta Dental Player of the Game for his efforts.

How it Happened:
- Aidan Gelbsman started on the mound for the Great Danes, Michael Belcher started for the Bulldogs.
- The Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning thanks to a two-run bomb from Pat D'Amico.
- UAlbany picked up three runs in the third to take a 3-2 advantage. Ryan Ferremi singled to bring in Victor Mazzara and Levi McAllister doubled to bring home both Ferremi and Luke Myers.
- A solo shot from Bryant's Gavin Noriega in the bottom of the third tied the game, 3-3.
- The Great Danes used a big fifth inning to recapture the lead, 6-3. McAllister hit another RBI double to score Filippi and Jared Toby hit a deep shot over the left center wall to bring home himself and McAllister.
- Following the Toby home run, Kyle Rizy took the mound for Bryant.
- Bryant's D'Amico grounded out to second base in the bottom of the fifth, scoring Noriega from third to make it a two-run ball game, 6-4.
- UAlbany's McAllister continued his offensive assault in the sixth with a two-run shot over the left field fence to double the Great Danes' lead, 8-4.
- Alex Anea took the mound for the Great Danes to start the bottom of the seventh.
- Bryant's Rizy was replaced by Toby Scheidt with a runner on first in the top of the eighth.
- Liam Chamberlain was handed the ball for the Bulldogs to start the ninth.
- UAlbany's Myers hit an RBI double in the ninth to increase the lead to 11-4.
- Maine's D'Amico homered in the bottom of the ninth to make it an 11-6 game, the final runs of the contest.
