The UAlbany men's lacrosse team used a dominant offensive performance, led by an eight-point outing from Silas Richmond, to cruise past NJIT, 18-6, for the program's fourth straight win.

I thought we were a little squirrely in the first half, trying to do too many things, but we settled in during the second half and played really smart lacrosse… Exited to be back in the tournament this week, we'll set our sights on UMBC."
  
How it Happened:  
  • UAlbany struck first just under four minutes into the game, as Justin Lee finished a pass from Silas Richmond to open the scoring with the long pole.
  • Ben Wimmer followed just 54 seconds later, also off a feed from Richmond, to make it 2-0.
  • Silas Richmond kept the momentum going with an unassisted goal just 13 seconds later for a quick 3-0 lead.
  • Richmond picked up his third assist of the quarter, finding Ryan Doherty to push the margin to 4-0 with 7:36 left.
  • NJIT got on the board with 4:28 remaining, as JC Echezuria scored off a feed from Alystair Hemberger.
  • Alex Pfeiffer responded for the Danes with an unassisted goal at 2:26 to make it 5-1.
  • Conner Fingar added another late in the quarter, finishing a pass from Caeden LaPietro with 1:03 left.
  • Echezuria struck again for NJIT just six seconds before the buzzer to cut the UAlbany lead to 6-2 after one.
  • NJIT opened the second quarter strong, as Echezuria completed his hat trick with a man-up goal at 14:11.
  • Daniel Kesselring answered for the Danes just 32 seconds later with an unassisted goal to make it 7-3.
  • Jacob Smith pushed the lead back to five at 9:00, finishing another setup from LaPietro.

  • UAlbany wasted no time in the third, as Jackson Palumb scored just 22 seconds in off a Richmond assist.
  • Kesselring followed with his second of the day, an unassisted goal just 38 seconds later to extend the lead to 11-3.
  • Koleton Marquis added to the onslaught at 9:37, finishing another feed from Richmond to make it 12-3.
  • NJIT broke the UAlbany run with an unassisted goal from Jadon McKenzie just 15 seconds later.
  • Doherty answered for the Danes at 7:50, finishing a pass from Kesselring to restore the nine-goal advantage.
  • NJIT got one back at 5:27 on Echezuria's fourth goal of the afternoon, assisted by Ethan Kaban.
  • UAlbany responded with back-to-back goals from Amos Whitcomb, both set up by Richmond, at 4:35 and 1:25 to close the third quarter with a commanding 15-5 lead.
  • Jacob Moran opened the fourth quarter with a man-up goal at the 13:00 mark to make it 16-5.
  • Hemberger answered for NJIT with an unassisted goal at 8:26.
  • Brendon Barnard quickly followed with another unassisted tally for NJIT at 7:50 to bring it to 16-7.
  • Moran struck again with his second unassisted goal at 5:56 to close the scoring, as UAlbany cruised to a decisive victory over the Highlanders, 18-6.
