The University at Albany baseball team fell to Eastern Michigan on Thursday afternoon in the first game of the weekend's three-game series.

Jon Mueller : "You're not going to win very many baseball games giving up 15 free passes, they really caught up with us today. We had some opportunities but couldn't cash in. Looking forward to tomorrow to even the series."

How it Happened 
  • Ethan Naracci started on the mound for UAlbany. Drew Beckner started on the mound for the Eagles.
  • The Great Danes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Luke Filippi hit an RBI triple to score Ryan Ferremi and Levi McAllister singled in Filippi.
  • The Eagles got a run back in the third inning thanks to an RBI double from Deven Zirwas, 2-1.
  • The Eagles bounced back in a big way in the fourth when Logan Hugo hit a grand slam to deep left, making it 5-2.
  • The Great Danes bacttled back in the bottom of the inning with solo home runs off the bats of Jared Toby and Kyle Stephens.
  • Easten Michigan got a run back in the fifth on a solo shot from Zirwas. They scored once more on an RBI single from Bruce Jellison to make it 7-4.
  • The Eagles tacked on another run in the 6th off the bat of Brenden Kleiman.
  • Eastern Michigan made it 10-4 in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run from Logan Hugo.
  • The Great Danes pushed the score to 10-5 in the bottom of the seventh when Victor Mazzara scored on a wild pitch.
  • Mazzara brought one across the plate in the eighth after reaching on a fielder's choice, scoring Cooper Loyal.
  • The Eagles scored five more runs in the top of the ninth to make the final score 15-6.
