Into the Record Books
Ryan Doherty had one of the greatest games in UAlbany history last week at Hobart. The sophomore attack found the back of the net nine times, tying a UAlbany record held by legendary brothers Lyle and Miles Thompson. Miles scored nine against Bryant in 2013, Lyle scored nine against Harvard in 2025. Doherty added one assist for a total of 10 points.
For his efforts, Doherty has locked down a plethora of awards. He was named the America East Player of the Week, the USA Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week, and was named to the USILA Team of the Week.
Last Time Out
The Great Danes started conference play on Saturday night on the road against Bryant, falling 12-11 to the Bulldogs after a tough fourth quarter.

History with Virginia
Tuesday's game will be just the third all-time meeting between the Great Danes and the Cavaliers. The two foes met last season in Charlottesville when Virginia was the top ranked team in the nation, collecting a 16-10 victory over UAlbany. Prior to that, the first ever meeting between the two school came all the way back in 2005 in a postseason matchup.
